MIA this week.

I know I have been MIA this week. It has been a busy week and I was having laptop issues and then Internet connection issues. All is up and running now. It was a busy week at my full-time job this week and then I tore apart my kitchen pantry and re-organized it. I have also been straightening up my stamp and scrap room. Now that is all done and I am hoping to spend the rest of this weekend relaxing, spending some time at my parents and getting a little stamping done. So, check back later this weekend and I will have some new cards to share.

Have a great and safe Holiday Weekend!

Faux Metal

So, I had planned to sleep in this morning but after awaking around 6 am I could not go back to sleep so I got up and decided to play in my Stamp/Scrap room. There is a technique that Stampin' Up! showed us called Faux Metal and here are two examples I did this morning. I am loving this technique.
This one is "True Blue Friend":
Stamp Set: Punches Three (Hostess Level 1)
Card Stock: Brocade Blue, Pink Pirouette, Brushed Silver
Pattern Paper: Bella Rose
Ink: VersaMark, Brocade Blue
Supplies: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stampin
Dimensionals. Brocade Blue Grosgrain 5/8" Ribbon,
Square Scallop Punch

This is "A Very Merry Christmas":
Stamp Set: Punches Three (Hostess Level 1)
Keep Christmas
Card Stock: Sage Shadow, Hunter Green, Brushed Silver,
Watercolor Paper
Ink: VersaMark, Stazon Black, Sage Shadow
Supplies: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Watercolor
Pencils, Blender Pens, Stripped Grosgrain 1/2" Red Ribbon,
Sticky Strips, Square Scallop Punch

My Stamp Clubs that will start in September will learn the Faux
Metal Technique. I have already designed the card and it is really
pretty. I can't show it though, till after stamp club - I don't won't
to spoil the surprise for them.

Happy Monday

Hi All and Happy Monday. I just got back last night from my scrapbooking weekend at the ACE Conference Center in Lafayette Hills, PA for the Summer Simply Cropping Getaway. This was my 16th getaway with them. I love the Simply Cropping getaways and am going to the one in October and this weekend got to register for the one in January 2009 and March 2009. We start usually on Friday mornings scrapping and scrap through till 4:00 pm on Sunday. Of course I do sleep a little in there. We laugh, eat, scrap and just have a great time. It's what I call my ME TIME. We all need that. We also did take a couple breaks to what Michael Phelp's swim for the gold. How awesome for him!

I am unpacking tonight and getting ready for a Stampin' Up! workshop I am doing at my house tomorrow night for one of my customers. Then Wednesday I will be in PA for a work seminar in King of Prussia. I may also have to stay up there and work in our Norristown office on Thursday but won't know for sure till tomorrow afternoon. So it's going to be a busy week. I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend coming up. Ha, it usually changes by the time the weekend gets here.

Here is a picture of Denise and my sister Jennifer who were attending their 15th Getaway. They got a crown, balloon and 15th charm for their Italian Charm bracelet. Simply Cropping gives you an Italian Charm braclet with a 5th charm on it to you when you attend your 5th getaway (if you were at their very 1st getaway you get a 1st charm on it also). Then on your 10th you get the 10th charm and so on.

New Catalog Open House

This past Sunday I had my Stampin' Up! New 2008 Fall/Winter Catalog and Idea Book Open House. Thank you to all the ladies who attended. I enjoyed seeing everyone. For those who ordered from the new catalog they order has shipped and I should have a delivery date later this week. I'm guessing the order should be here by August 20th or 21st.

Here are a couple card samples I showcased at my Open House. There are a lot of really great new stamp sets.

Hi All!

Sorry I haven't been on in about a week. Where do I start. Friday, 8/1, I took off work and went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Valley Forge, PA with my friends Denise and Linda. We had a great time and did lots of shopping at the vendors there.

Friday was also my Daughters 18th Birthday. On Saturday we had planned to take a bunch of her friends to the beach for the day but with the bad thunderstorms in the morning we postponed that part. We went ahead with a cookout and cake later in the day. So her friends and family were all there to help her celebrate. Then on Sunday we took all her friends to the beach in Ocean City so they could hang out there for the day. They had a blast.

Monday was back to work and I got a frantic call from my daughter that she was doubled over in pain on her right side and vomiting. So, about 9 am I rushed home to find her in a ball, vomiting and crying. I took her to the Somers Point ER. We got there at 10 am and left at 9 pm. They thought she might have apendisitis. None of the test revealed anything so we were sent home. She is much better with just a little tendernous on her side still. We are going to the family doctor Thursday to follow up. There were soooooo crowded in the ER that I'm wondering how much to trust of them.

Today was back to work, again, and trying to play catch up from being off Friday and then not being there yesterday. I'm exhausted. I'm trying to relax and take it easy tonight.

The Stampin Up Catalogs have finally arrived and I will be getting everything ready for the Open House on Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm. They catalogs are beautiful and I want one of everything in it. You all will love it when you get it. Let me know if you want to attend the Open House and get your copy. Just e-mail me at hustedde@msn.com . I look forward to seeing you there.

I have a few more things to take care of on line and then I'm heading to bed early tonight I think.
