Missing in Action

Yes, I have been missing in action. I do apologize. It's been very crazy for me this past month. On top of the holidays I have been extremely busy at my full time job. This is a good thing as I thank God everyday that I have a job. I do really enjoy my job as well. About 4 weeks ago my father fell at home and broke his hip. He has been in the hospital and then moved to Betty Bacharach Rehab where he is right now. So, I've spent lots of time visiting him, working my full time job, doing the holiday thing with my family and my husbands and trying to keep up with the cleaning and laundry at home. To say the least, this time has flown by and I'm tired. Hopefully dad will be released to go home this Saturday. Keep him in your prayers. I think it will be great for his moral to be able to get back home.

I haven't done any stamping since November. I miss it. I do have a stamp club this month so I look forward to designing those cards and getting back into the swing of things.

So, be patient with me, but I will get to posting soon.

November Stamp Club Cards

Here are the cards that we will be making at my November Stampin' Up! Stamp Club meeting next week. Since Christmas is around the corner we will be doing 2 Christmas Cards and then the 3rd card can be what ever they want, I made it as a Thinking of You card.

The Thinking of You card I stamped the image from Day of Gratitude Stamp Set from the 2010 Holiday Mini using VersaMark Ink. I then took sponge daubers and the Stampin' Pastels (Caulks) and caulked the image and cut it out. Very cool technique! I loved seeing the color pop on the image.

Wow, can you believe it's November already? Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. I don't know about you all but I need to start making my Christmas cards soon. I have been preparing for a Stampin' Up! workshop I am doing this week and my Stamp Club next week.

We have access through our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator side website and while at conventions or regionals they display many samples for us to take pictures of. Stampin' Up! Baltimore Regional Seminar

This past Saturday, October 2nd, I spent the day at the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Baltimore, Maryland. What a great day. We learned lots of new tips and ideas for our Stampin' Up! business. It was also nice because 9 of us from this area - all downlines of some level under Gail Murray. Gail arranged for us all to have dinner together at the M&S Grill at Baltimore's Inner Harbor after the Seminar. It was so nice to see everyone and spend the day doing what we love together.

My Upline is Jacki Montgomery. She has become one of my closets friends and Saturday was her Birthday. I'm so glad she spent the day with us. I drove down with her and one of my fellow demonstrators and one of her other downline, Maureen Gold. We had a great time catching up on the drive down and back.

The restaurant we had dinner at printed up special menu's for us in honor of Jacki's Birthday. They said Happy Birthday Jacki on them. How awesome is that!

Stampin' Up!'s Regional Seminars are great. We get a FREE Stamp Set, get to make 5 make-in-takes and learned lots of great ideas and tips. I swaped 100 card fronts and got some really great ones back. I will post some of the swaps in the near future as well as pictures of some of the samples they had on display for us. We were also provided lunch and a 3 pm snack of ice cream. That was a great idea! We were also given a commerative pin and a pack of the new glitter brads. This is the 3rd Regional I've attended since joining Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator in August of 2004. The others were in Atlantic City and Philalephia.

Stampin' Up! New Recruit Offer

I spent yesterday at the Stampin' Up! Baltimore, Maryland, day seminar. It was terrific, I learned lots of great stuff and had a blast with my Stampin' Sisters!

Stampin' Up! announced that along with the cool tote that they are offering to new recruits who sign on by October 17th the new recruit will also get the stamp set Eat Chocolate for free. The Eat Chocolate stamp set is from the 2011 Occasions Mini Catalog that will be out in January of 2011. I will post some sample they had using this stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Stamp Club

It's that time of year again. Fall is almost here, summer is over, weather is getting cooler (finally!) and school has started. It is also the time of the year that I start my Stamp Clubs again. I really enjoy the stamp clubs. One, it gives me a chance to spend an evening a month with some of my great customers and it also makes me sit down and create projects and spend time doing one of my hobbies.

Stamp Club at the Mays Landing Library

On Tuesday evening I will be demonstrating the Secret Hidden Message Card to the ladies at the South Jersey Stampers Stamp Club at the Mays Landing Library.

We meet once a month and learn a new technique or creative idea. We each take turns demonstrating an idea to the group. We also do Card Swap. There is a specific theme for the month and you make a card with that theme. If you make a card, you get a pick a card. If you choose not to make a card that is fine also. Also, some people make their own version of the idea shared with us the month previous. It is a lot of fun and a nice time out doing what I really enjoy. I have made some new friends, all the ladies in the group are so nice.

I wanted to share with you my card for the Swap (hint to those in my Stampin' Up! Stamp Club - this is one of the cards we will be making next week). Also, this card idea was taken from one of the girls at our Stampin' Up! downline meeting at Gail Murray's a few weeks ago. I'm really sorry I don't know her name, but I wanted to thank her for the cute idea on using the new Web Embossing Folder. Secret Message Cards

As I posted earlier one of our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's Deb Clark brought a project for us to do at our Downline Meeting last month called a Secret Hidden Message Card. Here are a few I created in preperation for Demonstrating the technique to the South Jersey Stampers Group that meets once a month at the Mays Landing Atlantic County Library.

I really enjoyed making these samples and look forward to teaching the card to all the ladies in the South Jersey Stampers Stamp Club at the Mays Landing Library.

Annual Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack

It's that time of year again. My Annual Christmas Stamp-A-Stack will be held in two (2) Sessions. Session 1 will be Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Session 2 will be Saturday, October 16, 2010, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It's Such a Small World

This past week I was reminded of what a small world this is. I was born in Northern Kentucky and lived there until I was 12 years old at which time my dad got transfered to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where we lived until he was transfered to Southern New Jersey when I was 15 1/2 years old. I have since lived here in Southern New Jersey except for a 1 1/2 years that I lived in New York. I am on Facebook and this past week my best friend growing up in Kentucky, who lived around the corner from my street in Kentucky, found me. We lost touch approximately 26 years ago. After I moved from Kentucky I saw her when we were back visiting family and she even visited me in New Jersey one time after we had graduated high school. Then after that we lost touch. I was so excited to hear from her as I have though about her over the years, I had even looked for her on Facebook but didn't find her.

On top of her finding me after all these years would you believe she is also a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator? Now that is a small world!

I'm hoping to attend a Family Reunion for my mom's side of the family back in that area this summer. I plan to also visit her as well as other family from my dad's side of the family.

So, you never know who you will re-connect with. Isn't it a small world?

Winter of 2009-2010

Well, here I sit at home (yes, a snow day from work!) waiting on the next round of snow to hit. We got about 3" overnight before it changed to rain. Now it's just a slushy mess outside. We had about 24" this past weekend and are due to get another 8" to 12" today. What a winter this has been. We had a major snow storm the weekend before Christmas and a few smaller one's since. Then last weekend's major snow storm. Now another just a few days later and we are only in the beginning of February.

Okay, after stamping with my fellow Demonstators last Saturday, Jan. 23rd, I did some stamping of my own on Sunday, January 24th. Here is an Easel Card that I found a tutorial for by Beate Johns. Thanks for sharing this neat idea.

Here is what I came up with. What do you think?

The only thing I forgot to do was put a light color, like maybe white underneath the bottom layer with Happy Birthday on it and the punched edge so that you could write on that. Well, practice makes perfect.

On Saturday January 23, 2010, I attended a Downline Stampin' Up! meeting at Gail Murray's in Merchantville, NJ. I and fellow demonstrators got together to talk about what's new with Stampin' Up! and to also do what we call a "Shoebox Share". Basically you have everything in a shoebox size container to create your card. I will post a few cards for the next three days that I made.

Stampin' Up!'s Make a Difference for Haiti

Stampin' Up! is offering to donate $2.00 from the sale of every I Hearts Stamp Set, in both the wood mount or clear-mount, from now until February 28, 2010. They will set aside $2.00 from the sale of every I Hearts set and donate it to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. Here is the flyer:

In addition to Stampin' Up! donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the I Hearts stamp set Stampin' Up! bought some supplies for 5,000 hygiene kits. A few of their vendors also donated supplies for the kits as well. Stampin' Up! invited their employees to help assemble the kits and the were assembled in one day. Here are some pictures of the employees assembling the kits.

I think that is such a wonderful thing for Stampin' Up! to do.

I hadn't purchased the I Hearts stamp set yet so as soon as I heard this I purchased it. I'm so glad I waited so that I too can be part of the Make a Difference for Haiti!

Here is a scrapbook page I did using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio. It is from my trip to the Stampin' Up! Convention in 2007 in Denver, Colorado. After the convention we (my upline, Jacki, and Sidelines Jean & Carolyn) had day free and we took a 10 hour bus tour through the Rockie Mountain National Park and along the way we saw this Moose and the driver stopped so we could get out and take pictures.

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas. I'm sorry I have not posted in over a month. Kind of took a break for the month of December. Since I had no stamp club or workshops for December I took the month off from doing any stamping. I concentrated on spending time with friends and family and had a nice relaxing month.

Today is our last Christmas celebration with family and then it's back to normal.

I hope you all had a wonderful December. Wasn't it nice to have snow around for Christmas. Here are a few pictures from the snow storm the weekend before Christmas.

Happy November!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. We had 106 Trick or Treaters yesterday. Lots of really cute little kids and awesome costumes. I always enjoy giving out the candy and seeing all the different costumes.

Today is November 1st. The holidays will be upon us before we know it.

Today I spent about 3 hours in my craft room designing and making cards. One for my swap with the SJ Stampers later this month. Also, I created and made the cards for my Stamp Club.

Today I am posting the card I made for my swap with the SJ Stampers.

World Card Making Day

Yesterday, Saturday, October 3, 2009, was World Card Making Day. I attended an event at my Upline's Upline, Gail Murray. We made 2 each of 4 different cards. I had a great time, met some new ladies and wanted to share the great cards Gail had us make.

Gail said these two were inspired by cards that her downline and my friend Jean Delaney did.

These two were done using the new Build-A-Bear Sizzix Dies that are in
the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.

This one uses 2 stamp sets and Designer Series Paper
from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog.

This one uses flowers and half pearl from the Pretties kit. We
also used some of the new shimmer paint featured in the Holiday
Mini Catalog as well.

Below show a close up of the flowers. The top one we
used a sponge dauber to but on the shimmery paint.

Thank you Gail for a wonderful time! I really enjoyed stamping with you and your customers and fellow demonstrators in celebration of World Card Making Day!

More Spinner Cards

Here are a couple more Spinner Cards I designed. Spinner cards can be make one of two ways. The easiest way is to use the Stampin' Up! Word Window Punch to make the slot for the image to slide in. The other is to use a ruler, pencil, 1/2" Circle Punch and trimmer or scissors to cut the slot. Can you guess which one was made with the Word Windo Punch and which one was done with the ruler, pencil and 1/2" Circle Punch?

If you guessed the second one, with the pinwheel spinner you are correct.

The spinner card works great either way you make it. I believe the key is that you use two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals to layer the top layer.

This past Monday evening I attended the South Jersey Stampers Club meeting at the Mays Landing Library. We meet one Monday a month. If you like you can make a card with the theme for the month to swap. Then each month one of us takes turns demonstrating a technique or project to the group. This month was Mary Jo. She has been one of my Stampin' Up! customers for several years and is VERY talented. Here are the two Gift Pop-up Gift Tags she showed us how to make. One was made by making a square to pop-up the design, the other was done by making two cuts in the paper at the fold to make the design pop-up. The first one we brought our own card stock, stamps and ink for and designed ourselves. The second one she brought the card stock and had the inside stamped for us and the pop-up design cut out for us. We did the stamping on the outside for ourselves.

The end of July I went to Ocean City Maryland with my mom, daughter and one of her friends to visit my cousin Jenn and her family that live in Ohio. We spent a couple days there and had a wonderful visit.

I went to Simply Cropping for my 20th scrapbooking getaway with them in August. It was wonderful. If you are looking for a scrapbooking getaway check them out at http://www.simplycropping.com/.

I then spent a couple weeks re-organizing my craft room. It is finally done and now I can get busy stamping and scraping. Here are pictures.

My next project is to get my Retired Sales blog updated. That will be in the next couple days, so look for that. I will post here when it's updated.

Stampin' Up! New Catalog 2009-2010 Open House

It's that time of year again. The new Stampin' Up Catalog comes out on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009. This year Stampin' Up! is going back to one catalog. I will be holding a New Catalog Open House at my home on Sunday, July 12th from 1 pm to 4 pm. If you have pre-ordered a catalog, told me you were joining a stamp club in September or booked a workshop after July 1st I will have your catalog for you. There is still time to let me know if you want a catalog, just send me a quick e-mail ASAP. Catalog is FREE with signing up for Stamp Club to start in September or booking a workshop, otherwise the cost is $7.00 ($5.00 off coupon for your first order placed from the new catalog of $25.00 or more in product before shipping and tax from myself. Stampin' Up! Retiring Items Lists!

It's that time of year again. Stampin' Up! has announced their retired Stamp Sets and Accessories. If you have not already received an e-mail from me with a copy of the Retiring Stamp Set List, Retiring Decor Elements List and Retiring Accessories List please send me an e-mail to hustedde@msn.com and I will be happy to send you a copy.

If you would like to purchase any of the retired items from these three list you can do it one of three ways:

2nd - Contact me by e-mail hustedde@msn.com or phone 609-335-3586 to place an order.

3rd - Host a workshop in the month of June and earn free product of which
can be used on these items. Stampin' Up! is offering hostesses in the Month
of June an extra $20 in product if their workshop is $250 to $399.99 or
and extra $40 in product if their workshop is over $400. This is in addition
to the other Free Hostess Items and Free product dollar amount for the
level of the workshop.

Prom Night

Hi All,

Tonight my daughter is at the High School Prom. Her boyfriend goes to a different High School (her school's rival school). We as well as he could only afford one Prom so they decided to go to his Prom. They are both Seniors. She attend her school Prom last year so decided to go to his this year.

Samantha and I spent the day together, getting the flowers, dropping off her car for later tonight, getting her hair done, getting her dressed and we had a nice lunch in there too. We stopped at my parents before picking up her boyfriend so they could see her in person. Of course she's going to be out all night and we are nervous about that but she's 18, it's Senior Prom and we have raised her right. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday she was a cute little girl that wouldn't leave my side. Now she is a strong-willed 18 year old who wants her freedom.

Thank goodness it's Friday. I know I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy and then we've been without our desktop computer for over a week and I was without my laptop for a week. Our desktop got a virus and crashed. It's now being restored (hopefully) and we should have it back soon. My laptop power cord died and I had to wait for the new one to arrive. I have it and all is working well with my laptop. This week I was busy with something every night.

Monday night was the South Jersey Stampers meeting at the Mays Landing Library. Below is the Mothers Day card I made for the swap. It's hard to tell by the picture but I stamped and layered the rose 3 times. I cut a smaller part of the rose each time to layer it with Stampin' Up! Dimensionals. I also outlined each layer with a Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue marker to give a shadow effect.

Happy Birthday to my niece, Brittany!

My niece Brittany turned 18 the other day. Saturday is her party and my daughter will be taking this card and box (with her birthday present in it) to her. Hopefully she doesn't see this before then.

I made the box at the Mays Landing Library South Jersey Stampers meeting. These ladies are a wonderful group of stampers who meet once a month, on a Monday night. We take turns showing each other different techniques and ideas. This months was a Bag in a Box by Carol Phillips. It is so cute and I really enjoyed learning how to make it. Thank you Carol! We also do a card swap - each month a different theme.

For the Bag in a Box I used the following supplies:

I had a very enjoyable afternoon today with the ladies who attended my Stamp-a-stack. Congratulations to Pam for winning the Door Prize, a $25.00 gift certificate for Stampin' Up! Project. Finally a Big Winter Storm

SNOW DAY! We have gone several years without a measurable snow storm. It was nice to finally have one. My husband went out and dug us out and said we got about a foot of snow here. My office closed and my daughters school closed so it was nice to have a relaxing day. Our dog really enjoyed playing in the snow. He liked being able to dig in it. At one point he was running so fast he slid and went completely under the snow. Funny to see a 90 pound dog do that.
